My Christmas Freebie

I made a new freebie.

Like I said in the last post I don't celebrate Christmas, but I like the colors of Christmas. So I played a little with them, and this is what I came up with:

Download HERE
And let me know if you like it.

The weekly hunt

So Christmas is near and there are a lot of Christmas kits out there. I don't celebrate Christmas, so you probably won't find many X-mas kits on my hunt...
Here's the weekly hunt: X2

Moo Two are celebrating 1 year, and in honor of that they created the "Hot Chocolate" Blog Train. I had a blast following the train. If you want to follow it yourself, enter the first link and move on from there. If not - here are the parts of the "Hot Chocolate" kit (14 of them):

Hope you enjoy yourself.

A new Challenge

I've recently joined happyscrapz. They have 4 monthly challenges: Template challenge, Font Challenge, Grab Bag challenge and Surprise challenge.
This month is the first ever I've joined challenges, and I'm loving it.
I combined all 4 challenges into one LO.
The template is made by Amy W., who is hosting to challenges at happyscrapz.
The stitches and the string tie and part of the grab bag she created for the challenge.
The font is Decemberice, which I downloaded here, at the bottom of the page.
The surprise challenge was a color challenge, to NOT use the regular colors for the theme (for snow it's usually blue & white). So I went for greens.

Also. since it doesn't really snow where I live (Not in my city, anyway), I took the photos from They were both taken by Ian Britton.

And here's the result:

A short hunt

I'm still emotional from the last post, so I'm keeping this short.

Life on the refrigerator door by Alice Kuipers

The English Cover Version:
The Hebrew Cover Version:

I just finished reading this book. I think it's a must book. I read it in just under an hour, and that should tell you something.
It's not a long book. Some pages really have no more then one line in them, but the book takes you places.
The book is composed of notes left on the refrigerator door between a mother and her 15 year old daughter. A full year of notes. A year of dealing with a broken heart, with the loss of childhood in a sense, with growing up, with breast cancer, with death.
Maybe cause my own mom died of breast cancer I felt this book so much, I don't know. I only know I couldn't put it down, and I ended up crying.
As I'm trying to think how I feel about this book I realise that I love and hate it both at the same time. It's stirring up things inside that I don't want to deal with.
My own mom got cancer while she was pregnant with me, but it was diagnosed only after my birth, when it was too late. She went through three years of treatments, losing one breast, radiation and chemo, being in bed most of the time, and then she was gone.
I was three when she died, so it's no wonder I hardly remember her at all. I have two small memories from her, two pictures in my mind. That's all. Everything I know about her came from stories, from other people, and I think that's one of my greatest regrets, that I didn't get the chance to get to know her personally. But that's life, right?
I'm going to put this book aside now, but I know I'll read it again. And again. And again.

Swirl paper pack - Correction

There was a mistake in the Swirl paper pack.
I accidently put in it the "Growth" red paper instead of the "Swirls" red paper...
Thanks Sharon for letting me know.

The link now has been fixed, and the zip now contains the correct paper.
So you can go back to the previous post and download the entire kit again, or go here to download only the red swirls paper.

My First Paper Packs!

I've been toying around with the Photoshop for quite a while now, and couldn't really get the hang of it, until a couple of weeks ago.
Last week, during the hunt, I stumbled upon DSO Color challenge forum, and this time I decided I want to take a shot at it.
I had so much fun, I did 2 paper packs.
Keep in mind - I am a beginner, and these are my first... so be kind.

You can download it here.

Please let me know what you think.

A New Camera

It's December.

I think at the back of my mind I've been dreading this month. At the end of the month it'll be a year to my grandmother's death, and I still haven't come to terms with it.

Last Friday we went to the cemetery. We do a yearly visit as a family and visit everyone all at once: My mom, My grandma on my father's side, my aunt on my father's side, and this year my grandma on my mother's side.

It's been really hard for me this year. I had a small panic attack at the cemetery, one I controlled rather quickly, but it set the tone for the whole day, and the whole weekend. A gloomy weekend.

To top it all I'm sick. Again.
I'm aching all over, and coughing like there's no tomorrow. Did I mention it hurts?

Anyway, to other things - I have a new camera. I actually bought it a few months ago, but haven't used it yet. Since Hanukkah is upon us, and the kids (my nieces) are having a show at their kindergarten, I figured it was time i got the hang of my new camera, and went out to take some pics.
Here are a few of them.
